The 75th annual Rodeo of the Ozarks – June 26th through the 29th, 2019 – is coming right up! Don’t miss your chance to experience one of the top five outdoor rodeos in the country!
Rodeo of the Ozarks has been a staple of summer entertainment here in NW Arkansas since 1944. The event draws hundreds of folks from around the country to come compete and spectate.
More than 500 of the nation’s best cowboys, cowgirls, and rough stock are expected at this year’s event. Rodeo events include bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. Youth events include a calf scramble, a “wild horse” race, and – of course! – mutton busting.
The whole shebang winds up with a parade and an exciting fireworks display!

What is a Rodeo “Slack” Performance?
Rodeo events can only allow so much time for each contestant to compete. Rodeo of the Ozarks draws so many athletes that there is often not enough time for everyone to compete in an event.
That’s where the “slack” rodeo comes in.
A “slack” rodeo is made up of this overflow of athletes. During a “slack” rodeo, athletes competing in timed events only, without an announcer, lights, music, or concessions. Admission is FREE, however, and the event provides a fun sneak peak of the upcoming main event.
This year’s “Slack” Rodeo is scheduled for June 25th at 5pm.
Buckin’ in the Ozarks 2019
Buckin’ in the Ozarks is a separate event designed to showcase, along with rookies and veterans, bull-riding’s most promising rising stars.
These brave competitors will face off against some of the baddest, rough stock bulls ever bred to buck. The rider must remain on the bull’s back for a full eight seconds, with extra points added for spurring.
Come witness the intensity, agility, and power encapsulated in those 8 seconds at Buckin’ in the Ozarks: July 19th and 20th, 2019.
