Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is a beautifully designed art museum in Bentonville, AR. The museums’s noteworthy collection contains important works from a broad swath of American artists, from Colonial times up to the present.
The first thing you notice upon arrival at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is the museum itself. The design, by architect Moshe Safdie and engineer Buro Happold, is a piece of art in and of itself.
The stunning glass-and-wood design is nestled around two spring-fed ponds in the forest. Two bridge pavilions stretch out over the water to give the museum its name. This winning combination of nature and design make for an inspirational experience. The Crystal Bridges facility includes galleries, meeting and classroom spaces, a library, sculpture garden, and a glass-enclosed gathering hall that can hold up to 300 people.
