Nestled deep in the Ozark Mountains, Eureka Springs Historic District combines the preservation of turn-of-the-19th-century architecture with excellent dining, shopping, antiquing, spas and museums. It possesses a nationally acclaimed art community and entertainments ranging from magic shows and live music to the Great Passion Play.
Springs, caves, waterfalls, natural bridges, hiking trails are available in the 95,000 acres of public land surrounding Buffalo National River, a popular canoeing destination near Harrison. The sheer sandstone faces of the Boston Mountains offer challenges to beginning and expert rock climbers year round.
Be sure to fly into the Arkansas Air Museum in Fayetteville to see vintage aircraft -- many still in flying condition! And come back in the fall for some fabulous fall foliage and fantastic Razorback football.
